Royal Garden: Located on 150 acres in the pristine Similkameen Valley, Corcelettes Estate Winery merges passion, precision, and science to produce exquisite small-batch wines under the guidance of Charlie and Jesce Baessler. With a name rooted in history as a ‘royal garden,’ Corcelettes maintains its legacy through meticulous land stewardship and precise practices in both the vineyard and cellar.
Special Touch: Adding 5% Viognier skins to the ferment gives this Syrah a unique charm both aromatically and texturally. Aged for 18 months in mostly French oak with a bit of American oak, it gets a sumptuous, almost hedonistic feel. The perfect balance of components hits the mark.
Tasting Note
This is the follow-up to the platinum medal-winning 2020 vintage, and it's just as impressive. Corcelettes often shows a riper style of the Similkameen Valley, and that's certainly true for the warm 2021 vintage. There's a combination of macerated blackberries and blueberries, accented with game, cracked pepper, desert sage, and sweet oak spices from mostly French oak. 5 percent Viognier heightens the violet aromatics, adding freshness to all that ripe fruit.
