Led by general manager Cameron Walker, Lunessence has entered an exciting new chapter for the Summerland-based winery, with a renewed focus on small lot wines from its estate. Farming organically since 2014, and certified in 2020, Lunessence's estate is centred around two natural wetlands. These wetlands foster biodiversity, promoting balance between the vineyards and surrounding ecosystem.
While the winery waits for its estate Pinot Noir to come into production, it has sourced fruit from further south on the Golden Mile Bench.
Tasting Note
From the complex, gravelly soils of the Golden Mile Bench, this Pinot Noir expresses the warmth of the South Okanagan with a combination of sweet black cherries and macerated late-summer strawberries. The rich fruit is framed by savoury cedar, singed herbs, and toasted oak, benefiting from nine months in French oak, with 25% new. Bottled unfined and unfiltered.
