Domaine de Cantarelle, established in 1974, underwent significant development in the 2000s to become the largest private vineyard in the Coteaux Varois en Provence AOC. In 2017, the current owner, Pascal Debon, saw an opportunity and embarked on a new adventure, making substantial investments in both the vineyard and winemaking equipment to enhance the quality of their wines.
The vines in Coteaux Varois en Provence thrive at altitudes up to 500 metres amidst rocky terrain. The terroir, characterized by folded limestone and calcareous clay, yields grapes with vibrant acidity and freshness. Benefiting from ample sunshine and dry mistral winds, these vineyards are shielded from moisture-related diseases, providing a perfect terroir for crafting exceptional rosés.
Tasting Note
Made from a classic blend of Cinsault, Grenache, and Syrah, this pale-hued, light-bodied rosé epitomizes Provençal elegance. It offers pithy white grapefruit, white peach, and wild strawberries, with a subtle accent of spice and garrigue. Crisp and refreshing, there's excellent fruit concentration on the light frame, with added texture from lees aging.
