Marichel’s vineyards are planted on sandy and silty loams of low natural vigour on distinct plots that benefit from Lake Okanagan's moderating influence. In fact, the vineyard terrain and the deliberate set-asides of natural plants create eight mini-microclimates.
Their Estate Syrah is harvested from Block 4, benefiting from perfect southwest orientation to produces wines with balanced ripeness alongside the freshness synonymous with BC wine.
Tasting Note
A classic Okanagan Syrah, this is perfumed and floral, with dried violets and white pepper notes leading into dried raspberry and brambles. It shows the freshness of the 2019 vintage, with fine-grained tannins that are approachable now but will allow this to gracefully age over the next 3-4 years.
