The Moon Curser wines break from tradition – the winery differentiates itself with premium wines from old-world grape varieties that almost no one else grows in the Okanagan, such as Tannat, Dolcetto and Touriga Nacional.
A red grape variety that’s been largely confined to Portugal’s borders is now making waves in the Okanagan. Predominantly grown in the Douro region, it is most commonly used as a blending grape in Port wine. Recently, it has also been celebrated as a dry red wine in the Dão region.
Tasting Note
Exceptional aromatic intensity, bursting from the glass with juicy dark berries alongside fragrant lavender and violet. It's concentrated and powerful, but with an underlying drive and freshness, with more than enough fruit weight to balance the firm, structured tannins. An impressive wine, with its best still to come.
Food Pairing
Best with braised short ribs with coffee rub or butternut squash and sage risotto.
