Three Sisters 2022 Tempranillo

2022 Tempranillo

Three Sisters

Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley | $31.99

Tempranillo leads a double life—or rather, a dozen lives—across various regions of the Iberian Peninsula. For example, it’s known as Tinto Fino in Ribera del Duero and Ull de Llebre in Catalonia. In Portugal’s Alentejo, it’s called Aragonês, while in Douro and Dão, it’s known as Tinta Roriz. Never underestimate how many Tempranillos are hiding on your wine list.

Three Sisters’ latest vintage is a fresh, red-fruited expression of Tempranillo, very similar to what we find in the cooler areas of Rioja, such as the northern part of the Leza Valley.

Tasting Note

A pure, elegant nose of strawberry and red plum, lifted by anise and rose petals, with well-integrated, quality oak. It's a fresh, red-fruited expression of Tempranillo. We naturally think Tempranillo is best in warm(er) climates. But it's early ripening, and seems to thrive in the more moderate climates of the Okanagan, like the Naramata Bench.
