1 Mill Road 2024 Grenache Rosé

2024 Grenache Rosé

1 Mill Road

Horse Heaven Hills , Columbia Valley | $43.99

The premier site of Coyote Canyon Vineyard in Washington’s Horse Heaven Hills AVA, owned and farmed by the Andrews family, is known for its exceptional Rhône varieties. The warm, arid climate and well-draining sandy loam soils create ideal conditions for growing concentrated, expressive fruit. Ben and Katie selected Grenache for its ability to thrive in Coyote Canyon’s ample sunshine, steady winds, and cool desert nights. Plus, this decision allowed Ben to work with a grape from his Australian roots after the deep freeze hit 1 Mill Road in 2024.

This Grenache Rosé was fermented primarily in stainless steel with 26% aged in neutral French oak on lees for four months. Partial malolactic fermentation was also utilized to refine and soften the mouthfeel.

Tasting Note

Reminiscent of Provence in the glass with its pale salmon colour, this Rosé offers bright aromas of blood orange, strawberry, and a hint of sea spray. On the palate, fresh strawberry and raspberry are layered over a fine balance of acidity and creaminess.

Food Pairing

This balanced Rosé will be perfect alongside any late-summer cheese and charcuterie boards. When you start reaching for a sweater again, go for salmon topped with butter or roast chicken.
